Orange Coast Magazine!

I am so pleased to have one of my photos in the latest issue of Orange Coast Magazine, with an article by Laura Saari on the annual Día de los Muertos festival in Santa Ana. Very exciting!

The gorgeous October issue features a subject very near and very dear to my heart: Mexican Cuisine, and where to get it - YUM!

Check it out - on newsstands now!

Fun with Fox Lor

The irrepressible Lori Fox, designer and creator of Fox Lor Clothing, came over for a party and we took some photos of her darling outfits. The adorable Miss M. was our model for the day and Laura Spears showed off her DJ skills. These are the Good Times!

Canon G10 - any thoughts?

(Hijack: I'm taking a break from blogging Long Beach today.)

Mr. Mod bought me the Canon G10 for my birthday.  I haven't opened the box yet.  I am so frugal - I'm trying to decide if this is the right purchase for the price (gasp!).  I have used almost daily my Canon SD300 Digital Elph - as an ongoing notebook of things I want to remember, and I'm wondering: is this the best carry-around-in-my-purse camera? (Note: I have a very small purse.) Quality is key and I do like to have the option of not lugging around a huge amount of gear for taking "fun" pictures.

Anyone using this camera? Or the G9?

Rancho Los Alamitos, Long Beach

Mr. Mod and I went to Rancho Los Alamitos to see a free production by the Long Beach Shakespeare Company of A Midsummer Night's Dream in August. I've seen this play performed a number of times, and it is always enjoyable to see how each acting troupe adds their own personality to the material. I wandered around before the show and soaked in the gorgeous twilight - what a rare jewel hidden in the middle of a residential neighborhood!

Now that we are nearing winter, I'm starting to miss all the natural beauty of summer. These flowers are just what I needed.

Long Beach Blessing of the Animals, St. Francis Day, Belmont Shore

I was in puppylandia on Saturday. Ran into fabulous photographer Samuel Lippke (check out his great stuff here) at the Haute Dogs Blessing of the Animals, and had tons of fun meeting pet owners and their pawed and clawed friends. There was only a little drizzle throughout the day, but not enough to dampen our spirits. Enjoy!
